3 Days Tour from Fes to Marrakech via Sahara Desert
Experience an unforgettable 3-day journey from Fes to Marrakech through the breathtaking landscapes of the Sahara Desert. This tour takes you across the Middle Atlas Mountains, through cedar forests, scenic valleys, and traditional Berber villages, all the way to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Enjoy a camel trekking adventure, witness magical sunsets and sunrises in the desert, and spend a night in a traditional desert camp under the stars. Continue your journey through the stunning Todra Gorges, Dades Valley, and the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah before crossing the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech.
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert
After meeting in Fes, depart southeast through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and continue to Azrou to visit the cedar forest, home to Barbary macaques. Continue through Midelt for lunch, then travel along the scenic Ziz Valley, passing palm groves and traditional villages. Arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon, where you will prepare for your camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy sunset over the dunes, try sandboarding, and spend the night in a desert camp with dinner and traditional music under the stars.
Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake early to enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast and a shower, travel to Rissani to visit its traditional market. Continue to Erfoud, known for fossil workshops, then drive to the impressive Todra Gorges. After a short walk through the canyon, continue along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” to reach the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight in a hotel or riad.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, explore the Dades Valley and its unique rock formations. Continue through the Valley of Roses and Skoura to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Visit the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and filming location for many movies. After lunch, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and arrive in Marrakech. Drop-off at your accommodation.
