We will start this 3-day tour from Fes in the morning by picking you up from your hotel or riad in the old imperial city. From there, we travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing by Ifrane (the Moroccan Switzerland), Azrou, and the famous cedar forest. We continue through several towns including Midelt (the apple capital), crossing the Tizi N’Talghomt Pass (1907m) and enjoying the beautiful Ziz Valley of palm groves. We then reach Erfoud and Rissani, before arriving at the Merzouga Desert, where you will explore the Erg Chebbi dunes by 4×4, meet nomadic families, enjoy a camel trekking experience, and spend the night in a Berber desert camp with traditional Gnawa music. After this unforgettable experience, we return to Fes.
1st Day: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Errachidia – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi
After meeting at the agreed location, we begin our journey south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop in Ifrane, known for its alpine-style architecture, and in Azrou cedar forest, the largest in Morocco, where you can see Barbary monkeys. We continue south through small towns where you may see nomadic families along the way, then stop in Midelt for lunch. Afterward, we drive through the Tizi N’Talghomt Pass (1907m), enjoying panoramic views, and stop to admire the Ziz Valley along the river. By the end of the day, we arrive at the stunning dunes of Erg Chebbi (Merzouga). Overnight stay in a hotel near the desert.
2nd Day: 4×4 Tour Around Erg Chebbi Dunes – Camel Trek & Desert Camp
After breakfast, we begin a 4×4 desert tour to explore the villages around the Erg Chebbi dunes, including Khamlia, known for its traditional Gnawa music. You will enjoy a warm welcome with mint tea and live music. We continue off-road to visit a nomadic family, where you will learn about their lifestyle and traditions. Then we explore areas of black volcanic rocks and enjoy panoramic views of the golden dunes near the Algerian border. In the afternoon you will start a camel trekking experience across the dunes. Enjoy a magical sunset before arriving at your desert camp, where you will spend the night in a Berber tent. After dinner, enjoy a traditional atmosphere with campfire, drums, and Berber music under the stars. Overnight in the desert camp.
3rd Day: Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Azrou – Fes
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast and a shower at the camp, we begin our journey back to Fes. Passing through Erfoud, Errachidia, Midelt, and Azrou. We stop for lunch along the way, and in the afternoon continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains before arriving in Fes. Where we will drop you off at your hotel or riad.
