During this 8-day Morocco tour from Tangier, we will start our journey towards Chefchaouen (the Blue City). Passing through the beautiful Rif Mountains. After that, we will visit Volubilis (the ancient Roman Berber ruins) and the imperial city of Meknes, followed by a full day exploring Fes with a local guide. We will then continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing via Ifrane (the Moroccan Switzerland), Azrou, and the cedar forest, as well as several towns including Midelt (the apple capital) and the Tizi N’Talghomt Pass (1907m), before reaching the Ziz Valley of palms.
From there, we continue to Erfoud and Rissani, where you will enjoy an unforgettable overnight stay in a Berber desert camp in Merzouga, including a camel ride in the Sahara Desert. Afterward, we will take another route towards Marrakech, passing through Rissani market, the spectacular Todra Gorges, Dades Valley, and Ait Ben Haddou, before arriving in Marrakech, where you will enjoy a full day with a local guide.
1st Day: Tangier – Chefchaouen
We will meet you at the port or airport and drive through the Rif Mountains, passing by Tetouan city while enjoying beautiful panoramic views until we reach Chefchaouen. It is one of the most stunning villages at the foot of the Rif Mountains. The medina of Chefchaouen features a Spanish-style square surrounded by artisan shops, rooftop restaurants, and cafés, where you will have lunch before continuing to Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional Moroccan riad.
2nd Day: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast in your riad, your journey will begin towards Volubilis, crossing through Wazan and other Rif villages. At Volubilis, you will explore the Roman ruins and learn about this important archaeological site in Moroccan history. After the visit, we continue to Meknes, a 17th-century imperial city, where you will stop for lunch and explore the historic medina walls, Bab El Mansour, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Finally, we drive to Fes for an overnight stay in a riad.
3rd Day: Fes Sightseeing
After breakfast, you will begin exploring Fes, the oldest imperial city in Morocco. You will walk through its narrow alleys and streets, starting with the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter (the first Mellah built in Morocco in the 16th century), and important cultural and historical sites. These include Al Quaraouiyine University, the famous tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idrriss Mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit a traditional tile cooperative and enjoy a panoramic view over the entire Medina of Fes.
4th Day: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga – Camel Ride & Desert Camp
Today, we travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, known as the “Moroccan Switzerland”, and in Azrou cedar forest, the largest in Morocco, where you can see and interact with Barbary monkeys. We continue through several towns where you may see nomads living in tents, then stop in Midelt for lunch. Afterward, we drive towards Merzouga, passing through the Tizi N’Talghomt Pass (1907m) and enjoying panoramic views, including a stop overlooking the Ziz Valley. In the evening, we arrive at the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you will ride camels and spend the night in a desert camp.
5th Day: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
After watching the sunrise over the Sahara dunes and having breakfast in the camp, we continue our journey towards the Saghro Mountains. We then arrive at the spectacular Todra Gorges, where you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch and take a short walk through the canyon. Afterward, we continue to Dades Valley for dinner and overnight stay.
6th Day: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, we travel through the Dades Valley, also known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs”, passing through Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. This route offers many opportunities for amazing photos. We will stop at Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch, we continue crossing the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying panoramic views and Berber villages along the way, until we reach Marrakech, where you will spend the night in a riad in the medina.
7th Day: Full Day in Marrakech
After breakfast, you will explore Marrakech, known as the “Red City of Morocco”. You will visit the most important historical and cultural sites, including the Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, and Bahia Palace. After lunch near the main square, you will walk through the souks and discover a wide variety of traditional handicrafts. In the afternoon, you will have free time to explore the city at your own pace.
8th Day: Marrakech – Airport
Transfer to the airport. End of our services.
