Discover the highlights of Morocco on this 4-day journey from Casablanca to Marrakech via the Sahara Desert. This tour combines imperial cities, stunning landscapes, and an unforgettable desert experience, taking you through Rabat, Meknes, Fes, the Middle Atlas Mountains, and the golden dunes of Merzouga.
Along the way, explore historic monuments, traditional villages, and breathtaking valleys, including the famous Todra Gorges and Dades Valley. Enjoy a camel trek in the Sahara, witness magical sunsets and sunrises over the dunes, and spend a night in a desert camp under the stars before continuing to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains and the iconic Ait Benhaddou Kasbah.
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes
After meeting in Casablanca, begin your journey to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Visit the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Oudayas. Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, where you will explore Bab El Mansour, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, and the Sahrij Souani basin. In the afternoon, drive to Fes for an overnight stay in a riad or hotel.
Day 2: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and continue to Azrou to visit the cedar forest, home to Barbary macaques. After lunch in Midelt, drive through the Ziz Valley, Erfoud, and reach Merzouga. Enjoy a camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes, watch the sunset, and spend the night in a desert camp with traditional music and dinner under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake early to enjoy a breathtaking desert sunrise. After breakfast, travel to Rissani to visit its traditional market. Continue to the Todra Gorges, famous for their dramatic canyon walls. After lunch, drive through the Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations and scenic landscapes. Overnight in a hotel overlooking the valley.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, travel through the Rose Valley and Skoura to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Visit the Atlas Film Studios (optional) and continue to the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. After lunch, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and arrive in Marrakech. Drop-off at your accommodation.
