3 Days Desert Tour: Marrakech – Merzouga – Marrakech
This 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga is the perfect way to discover the beauty and diversity of southern Morocco. The journey takes you through the High Atlas Mountains, ancient kasbahs, lush valleys, and finally to the golden dunes of the Sahara.
You will visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou, explore the Rose Valley and Dades Valley, and experience a magical night in the desert with a camel trek and overnight stay in a traditional camp under the stars.
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
After meeting at the agreed location, we begin our journey towards the southeast, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with breathtaking views along the way. We visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its impressive kasbahs and as a filming location for many movies. After lunch near the kasbah, we continue to Ouarzazate and then through the Rose Valley to reach the beautiful Dades Valley, where you will spend the night in a hotel or riad.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert (Camel Ride & Camp)
After breakfast, we head towards the Sahara Desert, passing through Berber villages and the stunning Todra Gorge, famous for its high cliffs. We continue via Tinjdad and Erfoud, entering the oasis of Tafilalet before arriving in Merzouga. After a short rest, you will enjoy a camel trek across the dunes of Erg Chebbi, reaching the camp in time for sunset. At the camp, you can walk to the top of the dunes, try sandboarding, and enjoy a traditional evening with music under the stars. Overnight in a comfortable desert tent.
Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast and a shower at the camp. We then begin the journey back to Marrakech, passing through villages such as Tinjdad and the Dades region. There will be stops along the way to explore local shops offering fossils, carpets, and traditional crafts. After a stop in Ouarzazate. We continue the High Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech in the evening.
